What’s in a Name?
Did you know that Parkhill and Erlton have two different public Boundaries?
According to Google Maps, Erlton’s southern boundary is Mission Rd on the north side of the street and Parkhill’s is Mission Rd on the south side.
According to the City of Calgary, Erlton ends at 34th Avenue on the north side and Parkhill ends at 34th Avenue on the south side.
Why does this matter?
- Erlton Court is part of Parkhill. For the residents who live on this street, the community they’re considered a part of matters because it’s in their name!
- There is a great deal of development happening on 34th Avenue and Mission Rd and it might be more effective if these sections of both communities have a united voice.
- Erlton (West Elbow) and Parkhill (Chinook Communities) are affected by different Local Area Plans. This adds an additional layer of complexity to development and planning matters.
Proposal: Align community boundaries with Rideau Park and Roxboro to establish a north / south boundary at Mission Rd for both Erlton and Parkhill.

If there is community support for this realignment, we will work with the City of Calgary and the Erlton Community Association to officially change the community boundaries for both Erlton and Parkhill.
