The Chinook LAP was approved on April 9th, with none of the amendments the Community proposed, included .  The vote was 9-5 with only Councillors Chabot, Chu, McLean, Sharp and Wong voting in opposition.  Much of the discussion revolved around the differences in language in our Chinook plan vs. the Heritage LAP, particularly around the definition of Neighbourhood Local.  LAPs that were approved prior to the passing of blanket re-zoning have language that is far more specific.  The Chinook Communities “tried” to gain support for an amendment to align with that language only to learn that the LAPs that were approved prior to the R-CG land use change last year, will have their language scaled back.

Thanks to everyone who supported the efforts to try and fix the planning discrepancies in our neighbourhood.   Your support was very much appreciated.

Please also note that the Development Page of the website now has a section for Open Land Use Change and Development Permits.  If you have any concerns about Applications, you can find the ones that are still open for comments detailed in a separate section.
